About
A lot of times, when we speak of Detroit, we too often speak of scarcity rather than abundance. But we know better.
We are The Better Detroit Youth Movement, a 20-year-old, volunteer-driven, non-profit coalition of incredible individuals and great groups working together to improve the quality of life and learning for and with our children, teens and young adults.
Live in Peace art parties at Wayne State, job fairs at Bert’s Warehouse, scholarship fairs at Cobo, The Million Father March, discussion forums, teen and young adult mentoring, community clean-ups, youth resource summits, and partnering on healthy youth resource fairs and Wayne County Court teen intervention programs are just some of our works you may know.
We know there is great power in collaboration that makes us all better. That’s why we continue to work with many youth and community groups that support children and families.
Greater Detroit has many resources for children, teens, and young adults. That’s why we created a regional map of youth-serving individuals and groups here to help our children believe and achieve. We know there’s many more youth servants who should also be on the youth resource map so please add more (www.betterdetroityouth.org).
Most children want to better themselves, their communities and the lives of others. The Better Detroit Brownie Company teaches students life, business and baking skills to earn money, and learn the joy of contributing to youth and community causes.
Better Detroit Brownies have been all over Greater Detroit including Hollywood Markets, Meijer Rivertown Market, Grant’s Pizza House in Rochester Hills, Dave & Amy’s in Walled Lake, Flavors of Jamaica in Pontiac, and Redwood Grill in Waterford.
Now our call to action is as simple as complex: how do we better engage and satisfyconsumers to better enrich and support children? Many adults have something of value to invest in our young generation. What are you ready to do to help more children succeed in school and thrive in life?
We work with a vision to bridge cultures and communities in engaging and enriching children all over Greater Detroit. If you’d like to help us make and bake a Greater Detroit our children deserve, please call 313.597.7888.
